About My Style

My graphic design style can best be described as vintage with a modern focus digital pop art. This includes my designs that range from minimal color-blocked art to a more painterly style to pure pop art.

I treat each brand as though it is an immersive experience. This experience is centered around not only the products being offered, but also the people who work for the company and those who purchase the products. These people become the characters featured in my art world. I portray the world as I see it with a nod toward the ideal particularly when depicting my future self. The idea of self is found throughout my work.

Because of my background as an attorney and my history/art history degree, my art is greatly inspired by history, law and creating unique brand identities. I am also interested in the various moments, movements and art found throughout black history.

For each work of art, I create brand identities that influence how I depict the products and people associated with the fictional companies featured in my art. My process is also quite important because it involves a lot of research into vintage ads, historic products and ideas (typography, colors and themes) especially from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. I pair these vintage ideas with painting and art styles that I admire so that the feeling and vibe of each brand comes through the artwork. Throughout my art I add elements of this vintage aesthetic to a modern world that features current technology and technology that exists only in my imagination. My art regularly explores themes of consumerism, society, law & regulation, family, technology and LGBTQIA+ people.
